NEW Spring Session: back by popular demand!: "OSHUN"! by Debbie Rosas
Focus: working with The 5 Sensations....Agility....balancing out power throughout the body.
Intention: "OSHUN" is a classic Nia routine with wonderful, sensuous music and movement. It gives special attention to agility & your Body's Way to develop strength in steps & stances, and alignment, as well as opening & building core strength. The body becomes the transmitter to move sound and energy throughout the body, creating a powerful alchemy of healing & harmonious moves. This routine is challenging, yet very creative....very earthy and will bring out the fun animal side of our natural BEing!

Alternate routine: "The 52 Moves".....this routine takes you on a journey through the entire Core 52 movements of Nia....a great way to build familiarity, precision, and comfort within many of the moves that are used in Nia routines. Each movement is done in a one-minute cycle, set to invigorating music. This gives you time to embody the move as well as energize it in your Body's Way. And, rest assured, it IS a powerful workout - you will sweat for sure!

Alternate routine: "DREAMWALKER" by Carlos AyaRosas
Focus: The Joy of Movement, and dancing what you sense
Intent: To experience tapping into pleasurable movement, sensation, and heightened body awareness.
Target: All levels....beginner-friendly
DREAMWALKER is a classic Nia routine designed by Carlos Rosas. The principle of choosing Joy is taught as experience through sensation that can only be felt, instead of emotional joy. Only your body is able to tell you when Joy is present and circulating its energy through your body. Learn to sustain and create Joy through movement. When Joy is absent, tune into your body, tweak the movement as needed, and sense pleasure. This practice will complement the emotional joy you may feel while moving, dancing, and experiencing the music. The emphasis is still on Universal Joy, placing your attention in your body, requiring you to communicate with it, via sensations! They are "the voices of the body" that help you to connect to your body as you move. The principle of "dancing what you sense" helps to further energize your body, while also connecting to emotions and spirit.
